Description

The COVID-19 pandemic combined with the rise of e-commerce and the awareness of plastic waste has created a unique opportunity to re-think packaging that will become a part of our everyday lives. Hand sanitizer is becoming more and more visible in places that even a few months ago we wouldn’t expect as normal – but who wants to envision a generic, poorly labeled plastic hand sanitizer sitting in an elegant restaurant environment or in a high-end boutique? An opportunity was created for an elegant packaging system that fits the aesthetic of those environments as we integrate them as a part of our everyday life.

This new packaging concept evolved from PTI’s development of the Dromo™ system, which was designed as a lightweight e-commerce refill cartridge. Building on that design, the hand sanitizer package has evolved that concept and was designed as an elegant, durable, dishwasher safe, re-usable dispensing system that could be further customized to meet the specific needs of the customer. The dispensing system is composed of an outer housing system with an elegant look with a fully recyclable plastic bottle that functions as a drop-in cartridge, eliminating the need for a time consuming and often messy refill system.
