Jun Wang currently works as a Director in Packaging Innovation, Global Design and Packaging group, Colgate-Palmolive Company. Wang owns a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry and has over 30 years experience on polymers. Between 2014-2020, He led the development of the first-of-its-kind recyclable plastic tube, which changed the plastic tube industry after Colgate openly shared the patent. In 2024, Dr. Wang co-founded with American Chemical Society's (ACS) Green Chemistry Institute (GCI) an industry-academia-NGO collaborative consortium on the natural polymers - Natural Polymers Consortium (NPC) as well as an ACS cross-divisional community on natural polymers, ACS NP CCC (Convergent Chemistry Community), in order to promote more sustainable mateirals to curb the plastic pollution. Outside his Colgate role, Wang was a co-founder of Asia-Pacific Sustainable Plastics Alliance to promote the plastic circular economy in APAC.
