Description

The concept is simple:  plastics make our lives better, and there are both environmental and commercial drivers to recycle them and produce green plastics. Yet technical and logistical challenges continue to present significant opportunities to increase recycling rates, recycled content GHG profiles, and end-product quality.

Axens, IFPEN, and partners have committed significant efforts in the last decade to de-risk and deploy renewable chemical and advanced recycling technologies that have the potential to contribute meaningfully to "closing the loop" by utilizing end-of-use carbon and “replenishing the loop” with bio-based carbon in the existing plastics supply chain.

Specifically, this talk will focus on environmental drivers, commercial incentives and technologies related to green chemicals and advanced recycling technologies for Mixed, End-of-Life Plastics via thermal conversion (TAC Process and Rewind®MIX) and PET via glycolysis (Rewind®PET).
