Positively PET with a New LCA

First, the National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR) introduced the industry to a new media campaign, “Positively PET”.  This social media campaign has completed its first two years of communicating directly to consumers about the benefits of PET packaging.  During that period the program’s paid social media messaging in four metropolitan regions has generated more than 250,000 consumer engagements to the Positively PET website  to learn more about the significant benefits of PET packaging.  In addition, the website educates consumers on various subjects including how to recycle PET containers properly, comparative carbon footprint advantages of PET packaging, and the many great products and benefits resulting from recycling PET.  Organic social media has garnered more than 1,000,000 impressions and public relations efforts have yielded more than 80 national and local media stories supporting the campaign’s message during the same period.  In 2022, the Campaign is expected to focus paid social media efforts in an additional 8-10 major metropolitan areas.

Second, the public release of the totally new and updated Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) which properly describes and quantifies the benefits and value of PET packaging in the circular economy.
